Super Bowl champion Bobby McCray has officially filed for divorce from his wife, Khadijah Haqq, after 13 years of marriage. The couple, who agreed to separate last year, has now taken the formal step, with McCray filing the divorce papers on Friday.
Separation Date and Reason for Divorce
According to the legal documents, McCray, 43, lists July 7, 2023, as the official date of their separation. The documents cite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Khadijah Haqq’s Cryptic Instagram Post
Khadijah Haqq, a close friend of Kim Kardashian, shared a couple of photos on her Instagram just a day before the filing, with a caption that read: “The comeback is greater than the setback,” hinting at the ongoing challenges in her personal life.
A Look Back at Their Relationship
The couple reportedly met at a club and got married in 2010 in Los Angeles. They have three children together, and McCray is reportedly seeking joint legal and physical custody of their kids.
Khadijah Haqq’s Statement on the Separation
Haqq initially announced the separation last year via social media. In her heartfelt message, she stated, “Now more than ever I have been relying on prayer. Family is so important to me. Unfortunately, life has brought me to a tremendous transition. After 13 years of marriage, 16 years together, and 4 incredible children, I have come to the intensely difficult conclusion that while Bobby and I have a great deal of love for one another, it’s best we move forward separately. I share this not because I believe it’s newsworthy but so that we go about our lives with honesty and begin the journey of co-parenting. I’m so grateful for my incredible support system.”
